The Now Academy was founded to reimagine education for families who want more than one-size-fits-all schooling. We believe in small cohorts, hands-on Business & STEM learning, and character anchored in biblical principles.
Our Founder
Leonard J. Chaplin (“Coach LJ”)
Founder & Head of Vision
Coach LJ is an educator, entrepreneur, and leadership coach with over 20 years of experience in business, organizational leadership, and ministry. A certified John Maxwell DISC Consultant, Coach, Speaker, and Trainer, he is also pursuing his PhD in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Entrepreneurship at Regent University.
Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Coach LJ knows firsthand the challenges of urban education. His calling to start The Now Academy is rooted in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way they should go,” and in his passion to build a school that prepares children to thrive academically, practically, and spiritually.
When he’s not teaching or coaching, he enjoys exploring cultures with his South African wife, creating community through podcasts, and equipping entrepreneurs to reach their full potential.
Our Board & Advisors
We are forming a diverse Board of Directors and Advisory Council of educators, business leaders, and community partners who share our mission: to empower future leaders through Business and STEM education, anchored in values.
