Digital Campus

The Digital Campus ensures learning, mentorship, and collaboration continue even when students are not physically on campus.

When We’re Not on Campus, We’re Still Together.

The Now Academy combines three days of in-person learning with two structured guided-online days
designed to reinforce skills, support projects, keep families connected, and gradually help children develop
independence.

Structured • Guided • Connected • Age-Appropriate

Hybrid Shouldn’t Mean “Figure It Out at Home.”

When parents hear “online learning,” they may worry about:

  • Too much screen time
  • Too little teacher support
  • Having to become the teacher
  • Disconnected assignments
  • Children working alone
  • Difficulty knowing what is expected

That is why our Digital Campus is designed as part of one integrated learning model—not as a separate
online school.

One Academy. Two Learning Environments.

The Now Academy Digital Campus is the private online learning and communication environment that
connects:

  • Students
  • Parents
  • Lead Educators
  • Specialist Faculty
  • Learning resources
  • Projects
  • Academy communication

Campus days and digital days are not two different programs. They are two parts of the same educational
experience.

WHAT DIGITAL DAYS ARE FOR

Reinforce skills introduced on campus.

Think about what was learned and what still needs work.

Continue projects, writing, design, and other learning activities.

Stay connected to educators, resources, and the Academy community.

Develop age-appropriate responsibility and independence.

WHAT DIGITAL DAYS ARE NOT

NOT AN ALL-DAY VIDEO CALL
Children are not expected to sit in front of a computer for an entire school day.
NOT UNSUPERVISED INTERNET TIME
Activities and resources are intentionally selected.
NOT “HOMEWORK ALL DAY”
Digital days can include hands-on, offline, creative, reading, project, and family-supported activities.
NOT PARENTS REPLACING TEACHERS
The Academy provides the learning direction and resources.
NOT A SECOND SCHOOL
It is an extension of The Now Academy

Kindergarten Independence Is Built Gradually.

A five-year-old should not be expected to manage an online school day like an adult.
During the Founding Kindergarten year, some adult support will naturally be needed for:

  • Logging in
  • Reading directions
  • Setting up materials
  • Moving between activities
  • Technology support
  • Helping the child stay on schedule
The goal is not immediate independence. The goal is to help independence grow over time.

THE PARENT'S ROLE

Parents Support the Environment. The Academy Guides the Learning.

THE ACADEMY PROVIDES

  • Learning plans
  • Instructions
  • Resources
  • Assignments
  • Teacher guidance
  • Feedback
  • Digital structure

THE PARENT SUPPORTS

  • Routine
  • Environment
  • Technology access
  • Age-appropriate encouragement
  • Communication with the Academy

We do not hand parents a curriculum and expect them to figure out how to teach it.

What Could a Guided Digital Day Look Like?

Digital learning includes both online and offline experiences.

Technology Should Support Childhood—Not Replace It.

We believe young children still need:

  • Movement
  • Play
  • Conversation
  • Books
  • Hands-on materials
  • Outdoor experiences
  • Creative work
  • Human relationships

Technology can support learning, but it should not become the entire learning experience.

A Digital Campus does not mean a digital childhood.

Technology Is a Tool. Thinking Is the Skill.

Students may use Academy-issued technology for:

  • Learning activities
  • Creative projects
  • Presentations
  • Research
  • Communication
  • Digital literacy
We want children learning how to use technology without depending on technology to do all of their thinking.

Preparing Children for a Technology-Rich Future

Artificial intelligence and automation will continue changing how children eventually learn and work.

The Now Academy’s approach is not simply to put more technology in front of students.

We want children developing the human capacities technology cannot replace easily:

  • Curiosity
  • Judgment
  • Creativity
  • Communication
  • Ethics
  • Problem-solving
  • Leadership
Future readiness requires both digital fluency and human capability.
